Taste and see that the lord is good

Proverbs 11:9 (KJV) - " but through knowledge shall the just be delivered."

There is an invincibility, a great joy, and a peace of mind that comes when you understand the reality and practicality of who you are in Christ. One of the devil's ways of stunting our spiritual growth is by making us always wait on the preacher to tell us about Christ and never explore it ourselves. Hence, we are now in a time and age where people are moving from one church to another, from one man of God to another. Moreover, with the advent of social media, we have access to all kinds of messages from around the world at our fingertips.

While all of that is good, and in fact, it is a blessing to be able to hear and see what God is doing and saying throughout the world, it can, however, leave us as hearers of the word only and not doers. We must remember that the Holy Spirit gave men the gift of the five-fold ministry for the equipping and perfecting of the saints and for the work of ministry. The purpose is for us to come to the full measure of the stature in Christ, lacking nothing. As we mature, we can't only depend on the relationship our pastor or church leader has with Christ; we must go to the Word of God for ourselves and give the Holy Spirit a chance to educate us in the things of God.

Although the former is easier, without knowing the Word of God for ourselves, we won't be as effective for the Kingdom of God as we would have been had we took the time to fellowship with the Word and the author of the book - the Holy Spirit. In these last times, God is looking to use His people and show His sovereignty, but if we are still uneducated and lacking an understanding of His Word, His desire can't be accomplished through us. Not because he doesn’t want us to, but because we're not capable of handling it. So, take time and study the Word of God and know this great God for yourself!
