In relationship books, one of the things that authors or professionals in that area continually teach is that we don't express our love and feelings the way we want to receive it but the way that our partner understands, hence they coined the word "love language". We shouldn't expect our partners to feel seen, loved and adored in the same way that we do, but if you in case do... I hope you do some retrospective check up while we are at it. Because everybody, whether because of their personality or background, have their own language they can understand love and affection being communicated to them.
In the same way, God has his own love language and unfortunately its not the language we are used to express it in. God is a spirit, so he is not moved by spiritual love songs, tears, shakings and screams. Are you shocked? Gods love language is not singing am in love with you, that's our own love language, which appeals to our emotions and soul.
So what's God's love language, its obeying his word, his directions, his instruction. Because when we are walking in obedience to his instructions despite what we are feeling or seeing it means we are declaring our dependence and trust upon Him. That's what He is proud of. Our walk in obedience moves God. Nobody blindly follows a person he doubts, doesn't trust or does not agree with. However when you fully trust a person, you put your life in their hands without question. Like what children do.
But what is it that we obey so that we can speak God's love language? His word, and his guiding spirit within us, because He said he will lead you to all truth, and in Isiah 30:20-21 that he will lead us to where to go, to the right or to the left. So whether we hear him or not, or obey him or not, the Holy spirit is always guiding us to the good and perfect will of God to be done in our life, and if we say yes, it will be for our profit.
Exo 19:5. Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
Deu 30:16. In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
