What is a vision? Why do we need a vision? Is vision for everybody or for certain people in the prophetic ministry?

vision means being able to see and capture the idea of something that is in the spiritual and seeing it in your mind's eye. It is a window into our future where we catch glimpses of what's to come for us or what we want to see achieve. And above all, it's not limited to any certain or called people,though individuals in the prophetic ministry practice it most. All of us have a call to envision and dream with God.

Vision is not limited by the present happenings, meaning our environment and history are not the executive bodies. In Fact the power of visioning helps us to transcend our temporary situation so that we catapult into the desired future. Vision helps us to see above and beyond what is on the ground, it's an area where neither limits,boundaries nor laws can hinder. And what you can see in the eyes of your mind, you can grasp it in your hand and realize it in the material world.

Envisioning and meditation helps us to give the word of God flesh and helps us in personalizing it for our very own life. God is the biggest role model we have for visualizing and then translating to the natural and material world. For in the beginning we see God creating all of creation and declaring it is good and rating from his work. Gen 2:3 However, we later read that there were no trees on the earth because there was no man to cultivate the ground (Gen 2:5 [GW]) “Wild bushes and plants were not on the earth yet because the LORD God hadn't sent rain on the earth. Also, there was no one to farm the land.” But in God's mind all things were created and made wonderful before they were even manifested.

That's the power of vision, being able to see yourself where God has said he has put you, where you desire to see yourself and living accordingly no matter the situation. For  to our God, our very past, present and future is already complete before him, so when like Abraham he says to us you are the father of many nations, I have made your descendants as countless as the stars and the sand, it might look foolish and hopeless in the now. But when we start seeing ourselves as the Lord has revealed to us, our situation will not be able to have a hold on us, because we have surpassed the seen and our mind is on the things of above and not below and behind.

Brethren, our God is not limited and we ought to not be, we ought to be transformed by the renewal of our mind daily putting ourselves in the remembrance of our higher calling and higher life. Because we go to where our eyes are targeting, being able to see farther, better and higher, will direct the course and direction of our growth. For he has said, whatever your eyes behold you will inherit. Our God leads by vision and not by sight.
